Job description

Do you enjoy collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, manage and analyse data on best practices and writing policy briefs?

And do you want to be part of the landscape restoration movement? Then we invite you to read and apply for this fixed-term position!

Commonland Foundation

We bring people together to restore landscapes and regenerate the Earth. Commonland is a not-for-profit organization that contributes to the transformation of degraded landscapes into thriving ecosystems, communities, and economies by connecting landscape stakeholders and providing a guiding approach to landscape restoration – the 4 Returns Framework. Equipped with the right approach and commitment, we believe that landscape stakeholders can transform a landscape in one generation – 20 years.

Our core values are: Empowering each other, Putting words into action and Being compassionate & honest. These guiding principles are our north star in the actions we take, that strengthen our culture and determine if we are on the right path in fulfilling our ambitious goals.

About the role
Improving policy coherence and integration across sectors and levels of governance is widely recognised as crucial to avoid ineffective actions and conflicting restoration outcomes, to promote landscape governance, and to ensure that national-level programmes meet the needs of local people. As governments and landscape restoration actors often struggle with limited cross-sectoral coordination, siloed agency mandates, and conflicting priorities, it is vital to examine these issues and identify solutions

You will work on developing and coordinating an (informal) collaboration under the ‘governing landscape futures’ project, which seeks to improve multi-level governance and policy coherence in holistic landscape restoration. You are part of the Policy & Impact team, which contains three team members at the moment. You will be working closely together with and report to the Head of Policy.
